This work uses a flatbed scanner as its technology for capturing images. Using this tool as an alternative means to a camera, especially a moving image camera, multiple "exposures" are created of moving image phenomena. In doing so, the sequence of images produced is analogous to movies on the one hand, and photographs on the other. Within each image, from top to bottom, a record of the event is represented instead of a single moment in time. The resolution of the scan determines the speed of the capture in relation to the speed of the event. Each sequence represents a passage of time from twenty minutes to two hours.
