Ceci N'est Pas Un Jouet is a piece for percussion and interactive video projection. Two percussionists play commercially available music boxes that are in two contrasting keys. The pre-recorded video of the two dancers is projected above and behind the percussionists. The songs are the percussionists' choice and can change for each performance; each iteration can be different. Some sound and video is accompaniment. Others are interactive programming that advances the video footage one frame at a time as a response to the amplitude of the music. The video here is a performance simulation recorded in the studio by the Quey Percussion Duo.
