Programming for a collaboration with eCellist Jeffrey Krieger for a new interactive work, set to the composition Sept Papillons by Kaija Saariaho, has been completed. The fine-tuning process now begins with special thanks to Tim Lawless. Social distanced/live streaming performance at the Children's Museum, West Hartford, CT is tentatively scheduled for the fall (October?).
The video of ICE IS WATER IS ICE IS from the recording sessions in June 2019 was shown virtually at the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival in June 2020. Plans are to do the actual performance at next year's festival (?). Unfortunately the European premier, to be presented at the Sonorities Festival, Sonic Lab, Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland in April, 2020, was cancelled.
I have retired as Professor of Integrated Media Arts, Hartford Art School, as of May 2020. I suffered a heart attack three days later.... go figure. All is well now - onward.
I received an Artistic Excellence Award from the Connecticut Office of the Arts' Fellowship Program for work produced in the last five years.
