Balance/Equilibrium is a series of video projections. This work attempts to correct or "right"circumstances of imbalance or intentionally producing perceptual imbalance. My interest here is to present the viewer
with a kinesthetic experience that challenges the perception of where one is, conceptually, in relation to the point-of-view presented in the various works. It is an attempt to reconsider the balance that gravity produces naturally and our presumptions of the world based on a stable model. My intention is to use the sense of balance/equilibrium in the physical, emotional and perceptual as a metaphor for our everyday circumstances. |
